Why stagnate in your comfort zone!

Enrolling in a year long art course has kicked me up the butt and pushed me well and truly out of my comfort zone.

Actually using other types of mediums and not just looking at them safely packaged in my art cupboard has been an eye opener and greatly satisfying. I have found freedom of expression and inhibition with cans of water based spray paint, dripped, flicked and splashed acrylic inks and glued random textured items to my canvas.

These play sessions  have taken me away from my ink line work and splash of watercolour which you know has been my signature style on cards, tea towels and coasters in my useable art range.

Trying new things has ignited my imagination and creativity which I think will move my artwork forward this year taking me in new directions. I haven’t enjoyed all the new mediums I tried, but know which I would like to incorporate in new works of the future.
